‘A’ – ‘B’ membership The DIBF Central Board kindly obtained a request from the
Deaflympics-EC of not claiming membership fees for associated members
to the DIBF and instead accept economical 0_administration support
from Deaflympics-EC.
Therefore the Central Board of the DIBF in meeting 28 November
2003 has decided into dividing membership into two parts:
‘A’- Membership: $75
USD for 2004 - DIBF-Congress decision
Full membership with voting rights at DIBF Congress and
taking seats in Central Board
Full access to DIBF-website with Intranet and certain pages
(password required) regarding member information such as Central
Board-minutes, chats and other items
Full eligibility to participation in all deaf international
basketball games, competitions and tournaments (clubs and
nations) sanctioned by the DIBF
Full eligibility to take part of coaches clinics/development
seminars/referees clinics and other activities arranged by
the DIBF
Full eligibility to participation in Deaflympics, World Championships
and Continental Championships (Deaflympics-membership required)
‘B’- Membership: No fee
Limited rights to speak at DIBF-Congresses, no proposal
or voting rights, no seats in Central Board
Only “normal” access to DIBF website
Will not be sanctioned for deaf international basketball
games, competitions or tournaments (dispenses may be admitted)
Limited eligibility to take part of coaches clinics/development
seminars/referees clinics and other activities arranged by
the DIBF
Full eligibility to participation in Deaflympics, World Championships
and Continental Championships (Deaflympics-membership required)
The reason for the actions taken above from the DIBF Central
Board is that it is important for the DIBF to be able to act independently
and to show nation members that the DIBF is a quite normal international
organisation with normal member activities.
It should be noted that economical support from the FIBA only
must be used for development activities and not for Central Board
activities.
