TURKEY – The Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) and the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) took a momentous step to promote deaf basketball, signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Sunday, 10 March 2024.

The MoU encourages both organizations to work together to promote deaf basketball players to become involved in, participate, and develop their skill in basketball from youth organizations to international competition levels such as DIBF World Deaf Basketball Championships and Deaflympics sponsored by ICSD.

Speaking after the signing of the MoU, President of the Deaf International Basketball Federation, Ioannis Stoufis, said:

We are delighted to have signed a MoU with the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf and we are looking forward to working with ICSD to best serve basketball players from youth to elite basketball players throughout the world. By working with ICSD, we will have the same goals to help and assist deaf basketball players around the world to become interested in, participate, and develop basketball.
