Wafaa and Yasmin En Noqobi (representative from Morocco) delivered an inspiring talk about their basketball journey and their shared commitment to giving back to their home country through the creation of a girls’ basketball program. They reflected on their personal experiences and emphasized how early involvement in sports shaped their understanding of the importance of opportunity and representation for young girls.
Motivated by a strong desire to create lasting change, Yasmin and Wafaa are developing a four-year plan to establish and sustain the program with the support of a dedicated committee in Morocco. While they acknowledge the challenges ahead, their passion and determination continue to fuel their mission to make a meaningful impact.
They also highlighted the importance of community and support from those who believed in their vision, sharing how powerful it will be when the first group of girls steps onto the court. To aspiring leaders, they offered thoughtful advice: start small, stay true to your purpose, be patient with the process, and never underestimate the power of believing in your vision.
