ANTI-DOPING
WADA List of Prohibited Substances and Methods
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) annually publishes the List of Prohibited Substances and Methods, which identifies substances and methods banned in sport.
By the present, we would like to inform all deaf players, team doctors, and other deaf basketball stakeholders that WADA has released the latest editions of the Prohibited List, effective 1 January of each year.
According to Articles 9.3 to 9.6 of the DIBF Internal Regulations, the DIBF follows and enforces the ICSD Anti-Doping Rules in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code. It is each deaf player’s personal duty to ensure that no prohibited substance enters his or her body.
Therefore, it is essential that all deaf players and support personnel review carefully the current Prohibited List, particularly when using supplements or medication.

Basics
Competing on a level playing field, where hard work, training, and talent are the fundamental differences between winning and losing, holds a central place within the sporting ethos.
The practice of trying to gain an unfair advantage through dishonest means is as old as sport itself. It remains a never-ending challenge, but one that DIBF takes extremely seriously.
Since 2002, DIBF has regularly and increasingly performed doping controls at its Championships. As a signatory of the WADA World Anti-Doping Code, first introduced in 2005, DIBF remains strongly committed to the fight against doping in deaf basketball.
