GREECE – Deaf International Basketball Federation Central Board named James DeStefano and Dario Pignataro as Interim Secretary General and Sports Director to replace Jurgen Endress who left DIBF to become ICSD International Sports Director. DeStefano and Pignataro are looking forward to working with DIBF members in the next few months. We are now focusing on the 2024 DIBF U21 Basketball World Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 17 to 27 July 2024 and 2024 DIBF 3×3 World Cup in Argentina during this month of December 2024. James DeStefano (Interim DIBF Secretary General)

James DeStefano has 40 years of coaching basketball at the high school, collegiate, and International level; leading his teams to 4 Gold medals at the 1997, 2001, 2009, and 2013 Deaflympics; 2 Silver medals at the 2002 and 2015 DIBF Basketball World Cup; and 1 Gold medal at the Pan American Deaf Basketball Championship in 2016. He served as DIBF Americas Secretary General from 2016-2020 and DIBF Americas President from 2020-2024.

Dario Pignataro (DIBF Sports Director)

Dario Pignataro has 35 years playing experience, 28 years as a National Team player in Deaflympics, European Championships, World Championships. He earned 2 Silver medals at the European Championships and 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze at the DIBF Eurocups. He served as a DIBF member since 2015 and was responsible for Development since 2019; as 3×3 Director since 2019, DIBF Youth Camp Director since 2015 and was the Lombardia Regional Delegate of the FSSI (Italian Deaf Sports Federation) since 2020.
