Thrills and Triumphs at the 2nd 3x3 World Cup in Washington, D.C.

The excitement was palpable as Washington, D.C. hosted the 2nd 3x3 World Cup from December 10 to 14, 2024. Featuring 19 men’s teams and 11 women’s teams from across the world, the tournament delivered five days of high-intensity action, standout performances, and unforgettable moments.

Men’s Division: Ukraine Rises to the Top

In the men’s category, Ukraine 1 emerged victorious, capturing the gold medal with a dominant performance throughout the tournament. Poland impressed with their grit and skill to earn silver, while host team United States 1 thrilled the home crowd by claiming bronze.

Among the standout players, Keanu Boren (United States 1), Oleksandr Fomenko (Ukraine), and Wiktor Nalecz (Poland) were recognized as the tournament's top three male athletes. However, it was Ukraine’s Yevhen Brechko who walked away with the prestigious MVP honor for his leadership and clutch play.

Women’s Division: Redemption for Team USA

In the women’s division, the United States 1 team clinched gold, dethroning the defending champions from Ukraine in a thrilling finale. Ukraine settled for silver, while Poland secured a well-earned bronze finish.

Top individual performances came from Afanasieva Kseniia (Ukraine), Emelia Beldon (United States 1), and Agata Krygowska (Poland). Cassidy Perry of United States 1 stood out above the rest and was rightfully named MVP for her outstanding contributions on both ends of the court.


Looking Ahead

With strong international representation and rising stars shining on the global stage, the 3x3 World Cup continues to grow in stature and excitement. As the curtain falls on an exhilarating 2024 edition, all eyes now turn toward the 3rd 3x3 World Cup. If this year’s event is any indication, the future of 3x3 basketball is brighter than ever.
