Two Veteran Athletes, One Shared Journey

Meet Fatima Tebibel and Sonata Bareikiene in the panel format on Zoom 

Transcript: "Hello everyone, This time, we are trying a different format - a Zoom panel discussion featuring two outstanding women with many years of experience in sports. Sonata from Lithuania played as a guard and has participated in the Deaflympics eight times. Fatima from Sweden has competed at a high level in four different sports: tennis, basketball, futsal, and padel. The theme of the discussion is "Two Veteran Athletes, One Shared Journey". I will be asking them questions about their experiences, challenges, and achievements along their journeys. They will also share how determination and passion have shaped their journeys and discuss ways we can support and inspire future female athletes. Curious? Then join us on 30 May! Growing up in the world of sport, they pursued their passion with determination, seized opportunities, and overcame barriers. Through sport, they built connections with others, formed international friendships, and created opportunities for advocacy.  

Fatima Tebibel - Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, she brings over 30 years of competitive experience in both Deaf and hearing sports at elite, national and international levels across four different sports, demonstrating exceptional passion and leadership. 

Sonata Bareikiene –  Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, she has over 30 years of competitive experience in basketball at national and international levels, combining elite performance with motherhood in recent years.
